Initial Consultation & Assessment
The initial meeting is a comprehensive assessment of mental health, medical, social, developmental and family history. You will be requested to review and complete the five forms that can be accessed via the link labeled “First Visit Forms" under the Resources tab. Please bring the completed paperwork with you, or plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Dr. Ahumada is a SELF PAY psychiatrist, and DOES NOT accept any insurance.
The initial consultation and assessment fee varies according to the patient’s age.
Children (12 years old and younger)
THREE-PART ASSESSMENT
PART 1: Meet with the parents alone to obtain complete medical, psychiatric, developmental, educational, social and family history
45 minutes, $300PART 2: Meet with child alone

Adolescents (13-17 years old)
TWO-PART ASSESSMENT
PART 1: Meet with the adolescent and family together to obtain complete medical, psychiatric, developmental, educational, social and family history
60 minutes, $400PART 2: Meet with the adolescent alone for 30 minutes, followed by a feedback session with the parents and adolescent to discuss diagnosis and recommended treatment plan for an additional 15 minutes

Adults
Initial diagnostic consultation

Psychotherapy (various modalities)
Therapy consists of an initial period of gaining understanding and a mutual trust and focus. We then work to increase insight and challenge those patterns that continue to cause dysfunction. Dr. Ahumada will work with you to determine the optimal frequency of these appointments, although they commonly occur on a weekly or twice-weekly basis. Therapy may be short-term or long-term in nature.

Medication Management
Intermittent appointments to monitor the effect of psychiatric medications will continue for as long as medications are prescribed.
